APC Guidelines

The Journal of Surgical Practice and Clinical Care  operates under an open-access publishing model to ensure that all published articles are freely and permanently accessible to readers worldwide without subscription or access barriers.

Open Access Policy

All articles published in the journal are made available online immediately upon publication, allowing unrestricted access, distribution, and use for academic and research purposes in accordance with the journal’s copyright and licensing policies.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

To support editorial management, peer review, production, online hosting, digital archiving, and long-term preservation of published content, an Article Processing Charge (APC) may be applied to accepted manuscripts.

The APC, where applicable, is charged only after a manuscript has successfully completed peer review and has been formally accepted for publication. Submission of a manuscript does not guarantee acceptance, and no fee is charged solely for manuscript submission.

Services Covered by APC

The APC contributes to the costs associated with:

  • Editorial assessment and manuscript management

  • Coordination of the peer-review process

  • Copyediting and formatting

  • DOI assignment and metadata registration

  • Online publication and hosting

  • Digital archiving and long-term preservation

  • Maintenance of open-access availability

Fee Transparency

Any applicable APC amount, payment instructions, and related publication information will be clearly communicated to authors upon manuscript acceptance. The journal is committed to maintaining transparency regarding publication fees and related policies.

Waivers and Discounts

The journal may consider APC waivers or discounts in special circumstances, including requests from authors with demonstrated financial constraints or those from eligible institutions or regions, subject to editorial approval and journal policies.

No Influence on Editorial Decisions

Payment of an APC does not influence editorial evaluation, peer-review outcomes, or publication decisions. All manuscripts are assessed solely on their scientific quality, originality, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

Commitment to Accessible Publishing

The Journal of Surgical Practice and Clinical Care is committed to providing high-quality open-access publishing services while ensuring broad dissemination, accessibility, and long-term preservation of scholarly research in surgery and clinical care.
