Peer Review Policy
The Journal of Cancer and Translational Oncology (JCTO) follows a rigorous and transparent peer-review process to ensure the publication of high-quality, original, and clinically relevant research in oncology and translational medicine.
All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening to assess their relevance to the journal’s scope, originality, and basic scientific quality. Manuscripts that meet the initial requirements are forwarded for external peer review.
The journal follows a double-blind peer-review system, where both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process. This ensures impartial evaluation, minimizes bias, and promotes fair academic assessment.
Each manuscript is typically reviewed by at least two independent experts with specialization in oncology, cancer biology, or related biomedical sciences. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise, research experience, and subject relevance.
Reviewers assess manuscripts based on the following criteria:
-
Originality and novelty of the research
-
Scientific and clinical validity
-
Methodological rigor and study design quality
-
Accuracy of data interpretation and conclusions
-
Relevance to cancer biology and translational oncology
-
Ethical compliance in human or animal research
-
Clarity, structure, and presentation quality
Based on reviewer feedback, the editorial board may make one of the following decisions:
-
Accept the manuscript without revision
-
Accept with minor revisions
-
Request major revisions and resubmission
-
Reject the manuscript
When revisions are required, authors are expected to respond to reviewer comments carefully and submit a revised version within the specified timeframe. Revised manuscripts may be re-evaluated before final acceptance.
All peer-review activities are conducted under strict confidentiality. Reviewers must not disclose, share, or use any information from manuscripts under review for personal or professional purposes.
The Journal of Cancer and Translational Oncology is committed to maintaining a fair, unbiased, and high-quality peer-review system that supports the advancement of cancer research and translational medicine worldwide.
