Withdraw Policy

The Journal of Medical and Clinical Innovations (JMCI) recognizes that authors may occasionally need to withdraw a manuscript from consideration. This policy is designed to ensure transparency, fairness, and integrity in the publication process.

Withdrawal Before Peer Review

Authors may request withdrawal of a manuscript before the peer-review process begins by submitting a written request to the editorial office. The request must clearly state the reason for withdrawal and should be approved by all co-authors.

Withdrawal During Peer Review

If a manuscript is under peer review, authors may request withdrawal by providing a valid reason in writing. The editorial office will assess the request and confirm withdrawal after completing necessary administrative procedures. Authors are encouraged to respect the time and effort of editors and reviewers.

Withdrawal After Acceptance

Requests for withdrawal after acceptance will only be considered under exceptional circumstances. Authors must provide a detailed justification, and the editorial board will decide based on the publication stage and reason for withdrawal.

Withdrawal After Publication

Once published, an article becomes part of the permanent scholarly record and cannot normally be withdrawn. In cases involving serious ethical issues, major errors, or research misconduct, the journal may issue corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions in accordance with publication ethics standards.

Author Responsibilities

Authors are expected to:

  • Obtain consent from all co-authors before requesting withdrawal

  • Avoid simultaneous submission of the same manuscript to multiple journals

  • Provide honest and complete reasons for withdrawal

  • Communicate withdrawal requests in a timely and professional manner

Editorial Authority

The editorial board reserves the right to review withdrawal requests carefully and may take appropriate action in cases of suspected unethical publishing behavior.
