Peer Review Policy

The Journal of Clinical and Applied Biomedical Engineering  follows a rigorous and transparent peer-review process to ensure the publication of high-quality, original, and clinically relevant research in biomedical engineering and healthcare technology.

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening to assess their relevance to the journal’s scope, originality, and basic scientific quality. Manuscripts that meet the initial requirements are forwarded for external peer review.

The journal follows a double-blind peer-review system, in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process. This ensures impartial evaluation, reduces bias, and supports fair academic assessment.

Each manuscript is typically reviewed by at least two independent experts with expertise in biomedical engineering, clinical engineering, or related interdisciplinary fields. Reviewers are selected based on their academic qualifications, research experience, and subject relevance.

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on the following criteria:

  • Originality and scientific novelty

  • Technical and clinical validity

  • Methodological rigor and experimental design

  • Accuracy of data analysis and interpretation

  • Relevance to biomedical engineering and healthcare applications

  • Ethical compliance in research involving human or animal subjects (if applicable)

  • Clarity, structure, and presentation quality

Based on reviewer feedback, the editorial board may take one of the following decisions:

  • Accept the manuscript without revision

  • Accept with minor revisions

  • Request major revisions and resubmission

  • Reject the manuscript

When revisions are required, authors are expected to carefully address reviewer comments and resubmit the revised manuscript within the specified timeframe. Revised manuscripts may be re-evaluated before final acceptance.

All peer-review activities are conducted under strict confidentiality. Reviewers must not disclose, share, or use any information from manuscripts under review for personal or professional purposes.

The Journal of Clinical and Applied Biomedical Engineering is committed to maintaining a fair, unbiased, and high-quality peer-review system that supports innovation in biomedical engineering and clinical applications worldwide.
